Working Feet :

My work with dancers (and marriage to one) has exposed me to the inner world of this this exacting and mysterious art form. The work, dedication and inevitable pain that is the foundation of the beauty we see on stage is not seen by many. It is not surprising to find how many dancers have a love hate relationship with their bodies. They live in these exquisite temples; their bodies must dance, it is in them and will out. Moving is an expression of the divinity that they hold inside, we all hold inside. But the work takes its toll. Injuries happen, it hurts to do what they do.

Like initiation scars dancers feet show their journey. It was a privilege to do a “sitting” of a friend's feet; beautiful beyond pretty, full of strength, passion and shaped in service of her art.
